To be able to view and print XPS documents, Microsoft's free XPS Viewer needs to be installed on your computer. The XPS file format is Microsoft's alternative to Adobe's PDF. Windows 7 already comes with XPS Viewer, but earlier operating systems need to download the following XPS Essentials Pack to open and print XPS documents.
